CRITERIA

Only girls who play in the West Riding Girls Football League (WRGFL) and the Harrogate & Craven Junior Girls Football League (H&CJGFL) are eligible to attend the trials. If you are not playing within either of the noted leagues you will be unable to trial for the West Riding County Leagues Representative Squads (WRCLGRS).

Girls playing in the WRGFL or the H&CJGFL but also playing at one of the following Club Academies will be unable to attend the trials. Those Academies are:

PGA Clubs

Sheffield United, Manchester United, Manchester City, Liverpool, Everton and Sunderland.

Others...
(if in the ETC at the following Clubs and playing in the WRGFL or H&CGFL you are eligible to trial. If in the Academy set-up at any of the Clubs below who have a games programme you cannot trial).

Leeds United, Huddersfield Town, York City, Doncaster Rovers Belles, Rotherham United, Barnsley,
Burnley, Sheffield Wednesday, Stockport County, Rochdale, Oldham Athletic, Blackburn Rovers, Preston NE, Chesterfield, Harrogate or Hull City.

The list of Clubs above are recognised as Academies but the list is not exhaustive. If you are unsure whether your daughter is eligible to trial for the WRCLGRS please get in touch with Russ Clarke at wrgflsecretary@gmail.com.

The WRCLGRS are running our trials in September to avoid clashing with Academy and Schools trials. We hope that the parents of girls who have already been successful at other trials but are still eligible to trial for the WRCLGRS give some thought to whether playing in another 'Elite Squad' is going to be detrimental to the child. We see so many players who are playing and training 5 or 6 times a week. That cannot be a good thing.

A link to the Trial Application Form will be put on this page on or around 1 July 2025. The Trial Application Window will be open until 31 July 2025.
